The Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre features a world-class interpretive gallery with exhibits and displays that promote discovery into the world of salmon and their natural environment. Guests and visitors to the Salmon Centre get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore and get hands-on with salmon.
The Quatse River Hatchery is a salmonid enhancement hatchery that focuses on producing Pacific pink, coho, chum salmon and steelhead trout. The Quatse River Hatchery is also operated under NVISEA and was established in 1983 and officially opened under the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans the same year by John Crosbie. Every year our staff produce on average 2.85 million salmon and steelhead which are all released into their natal river systems.
